a5c7b9f00b A single, albeit overweight, parent, Paul Blart lives a middle-classed lifestyle with his daughter, Maya, in New Jersey. After being mocked at in school, and having been unsuccessful to get employment with the local police services, he gets hired at a Mall as a security guard. He is attracted to a mall employee, Amy, but his attempts to woo her are foiled by a pen salesman. His continuing efforts to date Amy are hilarious as he must first adapt himself to cell phones and text messaging, which he attempts to do with his pal, Vijay's daughter's cell-phone. Things get complicated after he is instructed to train a new security guard - who has an agenda of his own - that will end up changing Paul's life forever. Paul Blart is a mild-mannered man who works as a security guard in a New Jersey mall. For years, he has applied to become a cop, but he always fails the physical exam because he has hypogmycemia and tends to pass out when his blood sugar is low. One day, a gang of organized criminals put the mall under siege and take hostages. Blart becomes trapped inside, and because of his sense of duty, refuses to leave. He thus becomes the police department's eyes on the inside and attempts to stop the criminals on his own. This movie was pretty much what you might expect.. but slightly less. I honestly didn't think I would go and watch this movie. For some reason, I was bored and I decided to choose this movie to see. It was OKAY. Yes, all capitals. I'm not really sure on my decision in this movie. I've laughed a few times, I enjoyed the movie, I thought Paul Blart was a complete idiot and it was horrible to watch him make a fool of himself, and I felt so bad for him. Haha. So, I guess this movie is pretty much Okay.

So pretty much, Paul Blart is a mall cop who wanted to become a police officer. Someone robs the mall and he happens to be in there playing Guitar Hero and doesn't notice until he sees guys with guns. He decides to stay and protect the mall. It gets the Cops and SWAT involved and they are quite impressed, even Paul Blart's.. I guess, employer.

One thing I was disappointed in this movie in seeing is the ending. Paul Blart refused the higher paying police officer job for the crappy mall cop job after all he went through to save the mall when he didn't have a gun. I mean, you see crap like this in movies all the time, but that's just pathetic. I've wanted to see him turn out to be a cop and maybe see him in a chase at the end as a police officer instead of a mall cop. But my God, that's horrible.

So, pretty much, the ending sucked but the movie throughout was good. It was excellent but slightly less. I should shut up. I think you would enjoy it. Only about one mild, mild, scene of sexual verbal humor, and Paul Blart drunk. But, this movie would be okay for your child. I had an occasion to laugh twice during the entire movie, the whole rest was extremely stupid, I guess it was supposed to be a comedy version of "Die Hard" but completely failed. This movie may be good for under 13 watchers or for marijuana smokers… The movie is about a fat security guard who falls for some attractive woman. He has an opportunity to win her heart by outwitting terrorists who take her for a hostage at a mall. This might have been a good movie if they put some more realistic themes, not people popping up out of nowhere. The only reason why I watched this movie to an end was because I "admired" the stupidity of people who made this film. Don't waste your time watching this. Underneath all the cartoonish mall mayhem and silly slapstick lies a comedy that aspires to be the sort of gentle crowd-pleaser John Hughes used to make. Paul Blart: Mall Cop is based on a screenplay by Kevin James, who plays the title character, and by writer and voice actor Nick Bakay. …on the ring tone for Paul's borrowed phone: My bubble Gum by Rasheeda

…the first karaoke song: Runaway by Bon Jovi

…when Paul is leaving the house for work: Mr Blue Sky by Electric Light Orchestra

…in the trailer: Livin' on a Prayer by Bon Jovi

…in the bar: Runaway by Bon Jovi

…when he walks over to Amy at the end: I Can't Hold Back by Survivor

…when he starts singing in the video games: Detroit Rock City by Kiss Yes. An extra scene depicting Blart's wedding is shown about 20 seconds into the credits, but there's nothing after the credits. The extra scene is not worth sticking around for.
